Bitget Unveils $300M Project Archimedes To Support Institutional Quantitative Strategies Through Dual Funding Tracks

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget introduced Project Archimedes, a $300 million capital initiative directed toward quantitative trading firms, asset managers, and market makers.

The program operates under the objective of supporting individuals and teams that influence market movements. It delivers assistance to organizations at varying phases of development through two distinct mechanisms.

The Capital Provider Program, backed by $100 million, targets emerging and expanding quantitative firms that employ market-neutral strategies. Bitget supplies capital to these entities, with proceeds distributed according to a mutually established structure and risk framework.

The Interest-Free Lending Program, comprising $200 million, addresses established institutions possessing mature strategies and active trading scale. Qualified organizations may obtain interest-free capital upon satisfying specified trading volume or position thresholds. Thereby they will be able to lower funding expenditures while expanding the capital accessible to their strategies.

Institutional trading currently faces an environment in which access to capital, execution standards, and risk management increasingly dictate which approaches can achieve scale. Arbitrage yields across mature cryptocurrency markets have compressed as competition intensified, prompting quantitative firms to investigate market structures including basis spreads, funding-rate differentials, and tokenized assets.

“Strong strategies often reach a point where talent is no longer the constraint but capital might,” said Gracy Chen, CEO at Bitget in a written statement. “Project Archimedes gives capable teams the acceleration it needs to scale, while aligning capital, risk and execution around sustainable performance. Our goal is to boost over fifty projects in the next six months with this capital,” she added.

Project Archimedes: Program Structure and Operational Framework

The initiative derives its name from Archimedes’ principle stating that an appropriate fulcrum can shift the world. For institutional trading entities, capital represents that fulcrum, while product architecture and infrastructure govern the efficiency of its application.

Tokenized United States equities illustrate one relevant case. Arbitrage prospects may emerge from divergences in basis and funding rates between spot and derivative markets. These approaches generally require firms to hold positions on both aspects of a transaction, which can immobilize margin across distinct accounts.

Within Bitget’s Unified Account framework, eligible rToken spot holdings may function as collateral for derivatives trading without necessitating transfers between accounts. This arrangement permits institutions to retain tokenized equity exposure while implementing related contract strategies through a single account, enhancing the utilization of available capital. Weekend collateral valuation references the underlying equity’s Friday closing valuation, offering a stable benchmark during periods when traditional United States markets are inactive.

Project Archimedes will concentrate initially on market-neutral strategies supported by documented operating histories and quantifiable risk controls. Participating institutions will complete strategy evaluation, due diligence, and drawdown assessments.

The program is organized as a long-term capital cooperation model featuring continuous admissions and staged deployment. Bitget Institutional intends to publish program updates progressively, encompassing participation statistics, deployed capital volumes, and strategy allocation. Product specifications, market-structure analysis, and institutional case studies will offer additional perspective on how participating firms deploy capital and trading infrastructure.

Project Archimedes also reinforces Bitget Institutional’s wider function as a capital partner equipped with market intelligence, linking firms with liquidity, unified trading infrastructure, and a global institutional network. Through capital distribution and interest-free lending, the program seeks to assist developing teams in building more robust foundations and to allow mature institutions to translate validated strategies into expanded trading scale.
