Gate Update: Platform Claims No. 1 TradFi Standing As Records Fall Across Flows, Staking, And Market Share

Gate’s position in the global exchange landscape took a decisive step forward this week. According to a Gate Research report, the platform now accounts for approximately 39.4% of total TradFi trading volume across platforms that have disclosed relevant figures, having moved from challenger to market leader in just two months. Industry data supports the scale of this shift: CoinDesk’s July Exchange Review awarded Gate a Grade A rating in spot trading with a 4.93% market share, placing it fourth globally, while its $276 billion in derivatives volume secured a fourth-place finish with an 11.2% open interest share ranking it second among retail platforms. In RWA perpetual futures — where global volume hit a record $460 billion in July — Gate ranked third globally with a 4.39% share.

Capital flows tell an equally strong story: DefiLlama recorded $263.59 million in 24-hour net inflows and $585.77 million over the past month, placing Gate second globally among centralized exchanges in both timeframes.

The week also brought a series of product launches, staking milestones, and campaign activations, detailed below.

New Products and Listings

Gate rolled out a comprehensive suite of services for DappOS (DOS), including perpetual futures trading with 1–20x leverage, margin and loan products, Simple Earn, flexible and fixed crypto loans, as well as Bots, Copy Trading, Convert, and Auto-Invest — covering the full range of spot-to-derivatives infrastructure.

On the ETF side, Gate listed LITE3L/3S, PLTRX3L/3S, DELL3L/3S, and QCOM3L/3S on August 11, offering 3x leveraged long and short exposure to Lumentum, Palantir, Dell, and Qualcomm. A concurrent trading challenge through August 20 carries a 60,000 USDT prize pool. Gate’s Futures Stock Section also added eight new perpetual futures pairs on August 12 — including CSOP SK Hynix 2x, CSOP Samsung 2x, GlobalFoundries, Vistra, Okta, and Ouster — supporting 1–20x leverage. The associated New Token Airdrop Phase 13 campaign runs through August 21 with a 50,000 USDT pool and up to 240 USDT per participant.

Stocks and Traditional Assets

Gate completed its latest cash dividend distribution for 100 US-listed stocks — including ASML, Mastercard, Costco, and General Dynamics — covering corporate pay dates from August 3 to August 7, with dividends automatically distributed in USDT to eligible holders on a pro-rata basis.

The gStocks sector delivered solid gains this week, with the 2X Long SNDK Daily ETF (SNXXG) rising 7.41% in 24 hours, Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bear 3X (SOXSG) up 5.17%, and Samsung Electronics (SAMSUNGG) advancing 4.81%. In Hong Kong equities, REALORD GROUP surged 21.35%, STERLING GP-NEW gained 17.45%, and YUNGONGCHANG climbed 16.36%. Gate’s stock spot score on RootData rose to 78.31, placing it second in the industry, with 24-hour public order book volume up 621% to $57.31 million. In precious metals, Gate’s XAU futures open interest reached $373 million (second among CEXs) and XAG open interest reached $80.61 million (third among CEXs), with gold and silver trading at $4,370 and $64.60 respectively.

Staking and Yield Products

Gate’s yield-bearing stable asset GUSD reached a new all-time high, with cumulative subscription volume surpassing $251 million. Holders earn a 3.8% base annualized yield with daily payouts and flexible redemptions. The ongoing DOS Launchpool GUSD staking pool offers an estimated 10.63% APR — bringing the combined estimated return to 14.43% — while Gate’s third Pre-IPO project, Moonshot AI (KIMI), is now open for subscription using both USDT and GUSD. The DOS Launchpool dual pools have crossed $153 million in total staked assets, split between a USDT pool (90.24 million USDT at 8.77% APR) and a GUSD pool (63.21 million GUSD at 10.58% APR), running until August 24.

SOL Staking reached a new all-time high of 661,200 SOL, with a reference APR of 7.91%. Gate’s USD1 (World Liberty Financial USD) holdings surpassed $608 million, with the exclusive USD1 Soft Staking campaign offering an estimated 10% APR, no lock-up period, and a minimum holding of just 1 USD1. Gate now supports Soft Staking across more than 20 assets including BTC, ETH, SOL, and FLR.

Campaigns and Events

Several simultaneous campaigns are running across Gate’s product suite. The “Gold & Silver vs. BTC & ETH King’s Showdown” event (August 11–25) invites users to join either the XAU & XAG or BTC & ETH team and compete on cumulative futures volume, with a 68,000 USDT prize pool and up to 10,500 USDT per individual. The “Global Financial Duet” campaign continues through August 28 with a 200,000 USDT prize pool, connecting Gate Stocks with Polymarket prediction markets across earnings reports and macroeconomic events.

Event Contracts Rewards Week Phase 2 offers a 100,000 USDT pool for BTC and ETH price direction trading, with first-order loss coverage for new users and tiered volume rewards for regular participants. CandyDrop Phase 176 runs through August 23, distributing 1,500,000 DOS in rewards for spot trading and referral tasks. Gate Alpha Hot Tokens Competition Phase 60 (August 12–18) distributes $70,000 in airdrops for trading designated Stock Meme tokens via a dual mystery box mechanism. On the sports front, the “Big Five Leagues Kickoff” campaign (August 12–31) carries a 200,000 USDT prize pool timed to the European football season opener, with loss protection on top-tier match predictions and Gate-branded Inter Milan jerseys for 10 lucky participants.

Market Insights and Ecosystem

Gate Ventures’ latest weekly report reflects a broad recovery in risk appetite: major U.S. equity indices hit new all-time highs (S&P 500 +3.58%, Nasdaq +5.19%), while spot ETF inflows reached $853 million for BTC and $244.9 million for ETH. Notable institutional developments include BlackRock appointing JPMorgan to facilitate tokenization of its European money market funds and Grayscale filing for the first U.S. Worldcoin ETF.

Leadership commentary this week reinforced Gate’s strategic direction. Gate Europe CEO Dr. Giovanni Cunti highlighted how stablecoins, tokenized assets, and digital payments are bridging digital and traditional finance, noting that Gate Europe holds MiCA and PI licenses from Malta’s MFSA. Gate US COO Laura echoed the theme, describing blockchain’s evolution toward becoming settlement and payment infrastructure — a strategy backed by Gate US’s 36 state Money Transmitter Licenses across 47 jurisdictions. On a lighter note, Gate launched a limited-edition Qixi Festival gift box featuring couple pajamas blending Eastern cultural motifs with Gate branding, sent to selected global partners and VIP users.
