The more substantial agreement involves IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, which has chosen Honeywell to supply avionics and power systems for 810 Airbus A320neo-family jets. This comprehensive arrangement covers auxiliary power units, weather radar technology, traffic collision avoidance platforms, flight management systems, and long-term aftermarket services.

Honeywell has maintained a supply relationship with IndiGo dating back to 2015. With the airline now operating a fleet exceeding 400 aircraft, this latest contract represents a substantial expansion of their partnership.

The aftermarket services element deserves particular attention. Equipping hundreds of new aircraft with Honeywell systems establishes a steady stream of recurring maintenance and service income throughout the operational lifetime of these planes.

Aeromexico Adopts Advanced Runway Safety Solution

Through a separate agreement, Aeromexico intends to equip more than 100 Boeing 737 NG and 737 MAX jets with Honeywell’s Surface Alerts (SURF-A) platform.

The SURF-A system delivers immediate audio and visual warnings to flight crews when their aircraft risks colliding with another plane on the runway. The technology leverages GPS positioning, Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) hardware, and analytical software to identify potential traffic conflicts.

FAA certification for SURF-A on multiple Boeing aircraft types is anticipated to launch in Q4 2026, with the process extending through 2027. This timeline carries significance — the revenue Aeromexico generates from this implementation could depend heavily on regulatory approval schedules.

Both companies declined to disclose financial details of these agreements, making it challenging for market analysts to incorporate them into short-term profit projections.

Analyst Perspectives

Wall Street analysts maintain a Moderate Buy consensus rating on HONA, derived from 12 analyst assessments published in the last three months. The breakdown includes four Buy recommendations and eight Hold ratings.

Analysts have established an average price target of $260, suggesting approximately 22% potential appreciation from the current trading level of $211.63.

Industry observers view the IndiGo partnership as the more economically significant of the two announcements, primarily due to its scale and the recurring revenue potential from aftermarket services.

Given Honeywell’s decade-long supply relationship with IndiGo beginning in 2015, this expanded contract solidifies their collaboration across hundreds of next-generation aircraft platforms.
