Ethereum is trading near $1,880 with around $4.89 billion in daily volume. Price has been moving sideways for weeks, stuck between key support and overhead resistance.

Analyst Ted notes that ETH has held above the $1,850 support zone, which bulls are treating as a foundation for any recovery. As long as this level holds, buyers remain in control.
Short-term resistance sits at $1,920. A clean break above that level, backed by strong volume, could open the door to $2,000. Failure to break it could send ETH back toward $1,750.
Analyst Altstreet Bets believes ETH may no longer need a dip to $1,750 before continuing higher. He sees the current consolidation near $1,850–$1,900 as a healthy base, with a potential move toward $2,300–$2,400 if resistance breaks.
Crypto chartist James Easton highlighted that Ethereum’s seller exhaustion indicator has dropped to its lowest reading since 2015. This suggests prolonged selling pressure may be losing strength, though it doesn’t confirm a final bottom has been set.
Ali Charts data shows Ethereum daily new addresses jumped from 121,210 on August 8 to 212,560 on August 16. That’s nearly a doubling in new network activity in just over a week.
ETHEREUM NETWORK GROWTH ACCELERATES
New daily $ETH addresses have surged from 121,210 on August 8 to 212,560 today.
Network growth is one of the strongest on-chain indicators of user adoption, and sustained increases have historically preceded major price rallies. https://t.co/1Mk3vzKLl4 pic.twitter.com/o7nimJv6qs

This growth reflects increased participation across DeFi, DApps, and other Ethereum-based platforms. Traders are watching whether this translates into sustained capital inflows and price movement.
Ali Charts also points to $1,580 as the major long-term support level. ETH has already bounced roughly 26% from that level, and Ali identifies $3,000 as the next major target if the current structure holds.
Not everyone is bullish. Analyst CryptoBullet argues ETH remains in a broader bear market and could fall to $1,210 by November. He points to the 21-week EMA as key resistance that ETH has yet to reclaim.
Trader Daan Crypto Trades noted on X that ETH volatility has nearly dried up completely. He said it’s very rare to see ETH move sideways for over a month without a big move following, suggesting a sharp directional move is close.
$ETH Volatility completely died off.
Big move coming soon here I assume. Very rarely you see ETH not moving for days after already trading sideways for over a month and not see a big move follow afterwards. pic.twitter.com/umZE87X1Ow
