Palantir Technologies (PLTR) and Nvidia have teamed up to build a sovereign AI operating system reference architecture, giving customers a way to run AI on their own hardware — fully on-premise, at the edge, or in a sovereign cloud.

The announcement was made Thursday and targets governments and enterprises that need to keep tight control over their data, AI models, and applications.

The system runs on Nvidia’s Blackwell Ultra hardware, which includes eight GPUs per unit and Spectrum-X Ethernet networking for AI training and inference. That’s serious horsepower aimed at serious workloads.

On the software side, Palantir is deploying its full stack: AIP, Foundry, Apollo, Rubix, and AIP Hub. These tools sit on top of a Kubernetes substrate and are managed through Rubix and Apollo, with AIP connecting language models to organizational data.

The architecture also pulls in Nvidia components including AI Enterprise, CUDA-X Libraries, Nemotron open models, and Magnum IO software.

What the Partnership Solves

Palantir says the setup is built for customers with existing GPU infrastructure, latency-sensitive workflows, geographic distribution needs, and data sovereignty requirements.

In plain terms: if you’re a government or large enterprise that can’t ship your data to a cloud provider, this is for you.

“From our first deployment with the United States government and in every deployment since, our software has had to meet the moment in the most complex and sensitive environments where customers must maintain control,” said Palantir Chief Architect Akshay Krishnaswamy.

Justin Boitano, VP of Enterprise AI Platforms at Nvidia, said the partnership enables industries and nations to process data with speed and efficiency.

The reference architecture is now available for review on Palantir’s website.

Palantir’s Current Position

Palantir currently carries a market cap of around $363 billion. Revenue grew 56% over the last twelve months, with a gross profit margin of 82%.

InvestingPro’s analysis flags the stock as overvalued relative to its Fair Value estimate, though 17 analysts have recently revised earnings estimates upward for the coming period.

Rosenblatt Securities has a $200 price target on PLTR, citing global instability and demand for defense and wartime solutions.

Truist Securities holds a Buy rating following a meeting with company executives, while Piper Sandler maintains an Overweight rating.

The partnership news comes shortly after Palantir hosted its ninth AIPCon conference, which included presentations from the U.S. Department of Navy and GE Aerospace.

The company also recently expanded its partnership with LG CNS to push AI adoption across LG Group companies.
