Tesla (TSLA) stock opened at $380.79 on Monday, up 0.2% in premarket at $381.77. The stock is down 15% year to date but up 16% over the past 12 months.
All eyes are on Wednesday evening when Tesla reports second-quarter earnings. Wall Street is expecting EPS of $0.54, up from $0.40 in the same quarter last year.
That earnings growth is expected to be driven largely by a strong delivery quarter. Tesla sold around 480,000 cars in Q2, a 25% jump year over year.
But deliveries aren’t the only thing investors will be watching.
Elon Musk posted Friday evening that Tesla’s Full Self Driving software will soon remember how individual drivers behave — preferred lanes, parking spots, driving style — and adjust to match.
It’s a meaningful upgrade for a product that has quietly been gaining traction. FSD ended Q1 2026 with 1.3 million subscriptions, up from 850,000 a year ago.
At $99 a month per subscriber, that’s a growing revenue line that analysts will want to hear more about on the earnings call.
FSD still requires human oversight 100% of the time. But the software has improved steadily, and personalization features like this are part of what keeps subscribers paying month to month.
Beyond FSD, investors will be listening closely for updates on Tesla’s robotaxi service and its humanoid robot program, Optimus.
Tesla launched its robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, in June 2025 and has been expanding slowly. Plans are also in place to build Optimus robots at its Fremont, California facility.
Bank of America holds a Buy rating with a $460 price target, pointing to robotaxi expansion and upcoming Optimus milestones as key reasons for optimism.
Not everyone is leaning in. CFO Vaibhav Taneja sold 2,606 TSLA stock in June at an average of $402.20, a move tied to tax withholding on vesting equity awards.
Director Kathleen Wilson-Thompson sold 26,409 stock in April at $378.11, reducing her stake by 35.3%.
Combined with other insider activity, insiders have sold 32,015 stock worth $12.4 million over the past 90 days.
On the institutional side, Meeder Asset Management cut its Tesla position by 56% in Q1, offloading 7,540 stock.
Analyst sentiment is mixed. Of 46 analysts covering the stock, 21 rate it Buy, 21 Hold, and 4 Sell. The average price target sits at $408.07.
Tesla’s 52-week range is $297.82 to $498.83. Its 50-day moving average is $409.41 and its 200-day moving average is $405.63.
In Q1 2026, Tesla reported EPS of $0.41, beating estimates of $0.39. Revenue came in at $22.39 billion, slightly below the $22.96 billion consensus.
Analysts currently forecast full-year 2026 EPS of $1.34 for Tesla.
